WCC HPV Program
In 1997, public groups expressed concern about the amount and accessibility
of basic information on chemicals. In response to this concern,
in 1998 the chemical industry, in partnership with regional regulatory
agencies and others, established programs to provide basic information.
WCC member companies are working to voluntarily provide basic screening
information on 125 high production volume (HPV) chlorinated chemicals
where global companies could work together. These HPV chemicals
are included in either the ICCA HPV Challenge or the US HPV Initiative.
Using the chart below, you will be linked to pages that provide
more information about each chemical.

CAS No. is a unique numeric identifier for each chemical or chemical
mixture. CAS registry numbers are assigned by the American Chemical
Society's Chemical Abstracts Service. Each CAS registry number consists
of up to 9 integers separated by hyphens. From the left the first
section can include up to 6 numbers followed by a hyphen, two numbers,
hyphen and the last number: xxxxxx-xx-x. More information about
the CAS numbers are available at http://www.cas.org/EO/regsys.html.
